I'm currently doing a PhD at Minho University, in Braga, Portugal, on the topic of Computer-generated holography.

I am also involved in several projects, most notably Wikimedia Portugal, of which I am the president. Additionally, I do some volunteer editing in several Wikimedia projects, especially the English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons (I'm an administrator on both).

I've been helping out with the setiQuest project as well, and maintain a regular column in the Cape Verdean magazine Artiletra. Besides these things, I have many personal projects that I try to tackle as time permits.
